354 Memorize Entire Quran in Courses Held by Astan of Hazrat Abdul Azim
Mutaz Aqaei, made the remark at a ceremony held to honor the top 27 memorizers in the last edition.
He said that so far 354 individuals have learned the entire Quran by heart by taking the courses.
Some 280 of these memorizers of the entire Quran are women, he noted.
Since many of the participants are students, the courses are not organized intensively, he said.
According to Aqaei, planning for the courses are such that they would not harm the participants’ studies at school and other activities.
Usually, it takes the memorizers taking the courses between three to five years to learn the entire Quran by heart, he went on to say.
The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.
Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.
The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
